I once heard a lecture on the philosophy of art by a very hip photographer who used lots of interesting and delightful descriptions to make this topic all the more fascinating. One such interesting and delightful description was the adjective he put before the word "decades," while referencing the last 50 years or so in the world of photography. I think what he meant was that, while those past few decades may not mean a whole lot in this multi-thousand-year-world, they had profound significance (as little things often do) to him and his work. My days might be very little in the grand scheme of things, but they form, delight, and devastate me. And they provide some writing material.
